S1000D: Realizing The Benefits Of Integrated Logistics Support - From Vision To Realization

Whether yours is commercial or defense business, technical Data is a key logistics element that often is underappreciated for its contribution to the overall sustainment of systems and yet it often is the door through which the sustainment community enters the remaining logistics functions. Today’s technology provides foundational enablement of functional integration, but the backbone remains thinking, planning, and acting on Integrated Logistics.

S1000D is the structural foundation upon which the lynchpin of technical data is built; a standard that supports and encourages Integrated Logistics. S1000D is one of a suite of standards developed to support logistics disciplines; all of which are harmonized to complement one another and to provide the frame work of the ‘I’ in Integrated Logistics.

In this Forum, we will guide and encourage an integrated view of conceiving and planning an integrated approach as well as define the realization process through the demonstration of tools, processes, and methods to promote this important aspect of integrating your logistical support.
